There were pigeons, sheep and oxen
And all the sellers too
Like crooked temple businessmen
Inside their temple zoo
When Jesus saw His Father’s house
A business and a barn
He as a zealous powerhouse
Cleaned house with whip and arm
He told the men to take away
Their animals and birds
He told them this was not okay
Then drove with whip and words
The animals ran out the doors
While money rolled around
The business men were on all fours
Their money on the ground
The crooked temple businessmen
Were there for cash and gain
But, there before the King of men
Found only loss and pain
The Temple was the sacred place
Where man could come to pray
Where every man could seek God’s face
And seek God’s holy way
Christ still demands a Temple clean
That temple of our hearts
So only God is ever seen
In all our inward parts
