I ran to meet my Lord today
The same old place, the same old way
And there He was with arms out wide
Oh what a joy I felt inside
He sat me down and read to me
The words He read, my heart could see
They went much deeper than my mind
These words were light to me, once blind
His words of light, of life, of love
Flowed into to me from up above
His words alone my heart did fill
Oh what a joy, oh what a thrill
I know that once He fills my heart
Together we, this day will start
My life can not much better be
Than when my Savior walks with me
He’ll guide my heart and guide my way
He’ll walk with me throughout this day
No matter where the road may lead
Today He’ll give me all I need
I’ll run to meet my Lord each day
The same old place, the same old way
And there He’ll be with arms out wide
To walk together, side by side
